I have always found cheat sheets helpful, something to add to the chart are
concentrations too!
here is my thought:

cell type: non-cytokines: (conc.) cytokines: (conc.)

PMN fMLP (10nM) IL-8 (10nM)
Platelets PAF (10nM) ?
Endothelium PMA IL-1 (10 u/ml), TNFa (20u/ml)

I hope it helps, a consolidated list if you ever finish it would be GREAT!

best regards,

bob

Subject: cytokine cheat sheet

This feels like being back in 3rd grade and asking my brother
in HS to do my algebra homework:

I want to put together a cheat sheet for cytokines, for starters:

            |Responds to which Activators? |With which cytokines?
cell type: |(list) |(list)
------------------------------------------------------------------

monocyte |LPS, PHA, PMA, FMPL (others?? |IL-1b, TNFa, INFg(?) (others?)
macrophage | |
granulocyte | |
T(CD4) |
T(CD8) |
B |
NK |

etc...

How do I get started? Do I search medline cell by cytokine by activator
or is there a smarter way?

As always, I appreciate all suggestions, and please reply to the newsgroup
so others who are interested can benefit as well.
