Are SYTO 9 (from Molecular Probes) and carboxyfluorescein similar in
staining properties for DNA? I know that these two dyes have pretty much
similar excitation and emission spectra. To be more specific, my question
 is:
Do they both stain the DNA damaged cells and live cells ? (SYTO 9 stains
both live and damaged and/or dead cells, but I dont know about
carboxtfluorescein). If anyone studied with these dyes and know anything
about staining characteristics of CF and SYTO 9, any help will be greatly
 appreciated.
