Red Blood Cell Standards

Hello all, in our laboratory we are interested in using flow cytometry
or ELISA to make serial measurements of RBCs to quantitate specific
surface antigens over time in patients. We follow many patients and
receive many samples so expediency is of essence. We are unable to use
radiometric assays due to the limitations of our facility. Usig flow
cytometry we have tried bead standards that are sold commercially for
this purpose but there are limitations to this approach. One of which is
that the time to expiration is usually short and we cannot get our
supplies promptly to continue our work. However, alternatively, I
thought we could use human RBC standards that are known to have a
defined number of the surface molecules we are interested in. Does
anyone know of a company that sells such standard red cells or that
would be willing prepare such standards using using standard
radioimmunoassay for commercial purposes?

Thank you for your time and for any responses.
