Hi Everyone, We're looking for an experienced FACS operator to run a flow facility at the Trudeau Institute in the Adirondacks. Here's our ad: Position available: Manager/operator of the FACS core facility at the Trudeau Institute. The Trudeau Institute is an internationally recognized non-profit biomedical research organization located in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. The Institute is dedicated to supporting basic research in immunology and the molecular mechanisms of disease resistance. Central to the Institute's mission is its FACS facility, which includes one dual laser FACStar Plus cell sorter, a FACScalibur and two FACScan instruments. We are seeking a full time FACS operator to manage the facility, operate the cell sorter and assist the staff with developing and performing flow cytometry procedures. Duties include: 1. Managing and operating the FACStar Plus cell sorting resource for Institute researchers 2. Coordinating and scheduling the use of all FACS instruments 3. General maintenance of all instrumentation and the coordination of necessary service with Becton-Dickinson. 4. Providing training in the use of FACScan and FACScalibur instruments and software 5. Keeping up with technical advances in flow cytometry by reviewing the relevant literature and going to meetings 6. Assisting Institute staff with protocol development Salary commensurate with training and experience including a generous benefit package.
