How to compare surface molecules of monocytes and dendritic cells

Dear colleagues;

I am now treating monocytes with various cytekines to establish
dendritic cells. I would like to know what change occur after the
treatment on the surface of cells. However, because of big change
of cell size and granurality, direct comparison between surface
molecules is impossible. For example whether or not HLA-DR is
upregulated is hard to say.

Could someone advise me with regard to this.
I appreciate your help.
