There is precedent that a biotin-conjugate surface antibody will survive the acid
denaturation step necessary for BrdU detection.However, remember the recently
(perhaps not-too-recent . . .) reported strand break induced photolysis method.
Look at Phoenix's web site <http://www.phnxflow.com/> for a good explanation of
this with their Absolute-S kit.  This method reveals incorporated BrdU without
the denaturing effects of acid or heat, so preserves surface antigens well.
