DEC-205 (clone name NLDC 145) is available only as culture supernatant (Serotec and Bachem) or as purified lyophilized antibody (Accurate biochemicals), but is not available anywhere in a conjugated form (assuming I haven't overlooked anyone). We spoke at length with the powers that be at Serotec, but for one reason or another, they will not or can not offer this as a purified conjugated product. The hybridoma is available from ATCC (catalog number HB-290). I would suggest purchasing the hybridoma and conjugating the product to biotin using one of the commercially available kits (Molecular Probes comes to mind). You will want to use a bright fluorochrome when assessing DEC-205 expression, as it is not present in abundance on even immature DC's. We use SAv-APC to detect our biotinylated antibody. Good luck. kb -- ----------------------------------------------- Keith Bahjat Graduate Assistant University of Florida College of Medicine Gainesville, Florida kbahjat@ufl.edu ---------- >From: Mark Cozens <cozens@postoffice.utas.edu.au> >To: Cytometry Mailing List <cytometry@flowcyt.cyto.purdue.edu> >Subject: NLDC-145 >Date: Sun, Mar 14, 1999, 10:29 PM > > > Posting for a Staff Member (Andrea): I was wondering whether anyone knows > if a directly conjugated antibody which recognises the receptor DEC-205 on > dendritic cells is available commercially.
