I would be grateful for any suggestions in a proposed long-term study. Can FLOWers suggest the most important markers of the "state" (activity/strength/effectiveness) of the immune system in BALB/c mice for a biggish study "Immune responses in a mouse model of operational stresses. 1. Heat". Mice will be housed for days/weeks at moderately elevated ambient temperatures and changes in immune cell markers will be determined by FLOW. In addition, we will determine stimulated cytokines and cell proliferation. We are currently considering the following since commercial Abs are available: Are any unreliable or unnecessary? Anything missing? MARKER FUNCTION CD3 T cells CD4 T helper cells CD8a T killer cells CD25 IL2 receptor CD40 B cells and activated T cells CD45 All leukocytes CD45R B cells CD69 Very early activation marker CD71 Upregulated after T or B cell activation NK cell marker Macrophage/monocyte marker Any other suggestions?
