Today I was asked about running platelets on my flow cytometer. I've never
run them, so are there any special tricks that I should be aware of? I have
a Coulter Elite, if that makes a difference. Thank you.

Naval MedicalI have worke with platelets since last August and there are no big deal
on perforning the method. I have used the one suggested by BD from their
lab methods book. The only thing I would advice you is if you will work
with not fixed platelets it is good to use PBS suplemmented with EDTA
0,009-0,0013M to avoid platelet activation. I have a FACScalibur and
the acquisiton is made using log scale for both FSC and SSC. I have no
experience with coulter. Should be something similar, doesn't it?
