                         FLOW CYTOMETRY SPECIALIST
                          (Job Code #293) 
                  in the Department of Research Immunocytometry

We invite all qualified individuals to apply for this position and take
the opportunity to work at the cutting-edge of flow cytometry.  The Flow
Cytometry Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and operating
high-end flow cytometry instrumentation, including: a 3-laser, 6-color,
8-parameter FACS Vantage, a dual laser FACStarPlus, a single laser FACStar and 2
dual laser FACS Caliburs.  The position's responsibilities include
research experiments and FACS analysis/ sorting in support of all departments
within the company.  The Flow Cytometry Specialist will have the opportunity 
to work with all aspects of the company using State-of-the-Art
instruments in the development and application of new products (fluorochrome dyes, 
hybridoma conjugates, and fluorometric assays) for multi-color research
flow cytometry.

Work Experience: Minimum of five (5) years working with flow cytometry
instruments; with three (3) years experience using dual-laser cell sorters. 
Previous experience in managing a multi-instrument high-end flow
cytometry facility is desired.  Previous experience with BDIS instruments/software
(FACStarPlus, FACS Vantage, CellQuest) and/or dye lasers preferred.  
Previous work with experimental animals and immuno-staining techniques is
required. Course-work or job-related experience in immunology, biochemistry
and animal physiology are desired.     Demonstrated verbal and written
skills in scientific communication as well as ability to work efficiently in a
team setting are required.  Experience with basic computer operations and
technical writing a must.  Minimum A.A. in Medical Technology.  B.A. in
Biology/Chemistry or related field preferred.
