Hello Jane

our laboratory in collaboration with Pharmingen/BD has developed a
"clinical" procedure for the diagnosis or screening of possible XHIM
patients.

O'Gorman, et. al. Development of a rapid whole blood flow cytometry
procedure for the diagnosis of x-linked hyper IgM syndrome patients and
carriers. clin. immunol. immunopath. Vol.85 (2); 172-181, November 1997.

the method is facile, can be completed during a work shift (<6hrs), is done
using 3 colours on whole blood (heparin only) that can be held overnight,
requires a little gating strategy but is easily interpreted

after reading the manuscript if you have any questions about our experience
with it or the procedure itself i'll be happy to help.
