line voltage

Hello Flowers,
A question about the necessity for line voltage conditioners: We have had a
confocal system engineer recommend strongly that we should purchase a line
conditioner to ensure that our system is buffered from voltage fluctuations.
The cost of this conditioner will be over $1000. Has anyone out there had
experience with these conditioners? Have they improved imaging stability? Are
they integrated within some imaging systems and in flow cytometers -- or is
there another reason that we don't hear about this issue very often?
Thanks for your experience on this issue.
