Listen up dEAR alICE, Ken Davis talked about them at the Australasian FCM meeting in Auckland NZ last month. One problem with his BRITE beads was that he said they had found that Abe's beads were under- (or was it over- KeN??) estimating the MESF values it returned for FCMs, and by a factor of 10!! Either way, it looks like there is some more controversy ahead of us. Cheers, Bob -----Original Message----- From: Alice L. In addition, BD has started to sell some new beads (QuantiBRITE) that seem as if they may also help in fluorescence quantitation. I haven't tried them yet but would be interested in comments from people who have. These beads were, to my knowledge, first described at the Rimini ISAC meeting in a poster by Ken Davis et al. BTW, are these companies all competing to put upper case letters in random places throughout words? Is this some sort of macho thing that has passed me by? aliCE Alice L.
