The BD Mac system uses a program called CloneCyt which is basically very similar to the HP ACDU program. The hardware is the same. Obviously being Mac based the whole system is much clearer. The program is basically an add-on to CellQuest in that all parameters, regions, gates etc are set in CellQuest and CloneCyt is used to set the type of plate used, number of cells per well etc. I have found it to be much more user friendly than the HP version. > And how well does it work? I am still using v1.0 (Is there a more recent version?) and I have had one or two unexplained computer hang-ups but nothing consistent enough to be able to pinpoint a specific problem (My Vantage still have CellQuest 1.1 and is using a Quadra 650 System 7.1). As the hardware is still the same, the efficiency of sorting and the mechanics of stage movement are similar to that experienced when I was using ACDUI on the FACStar+. > Could you use it to sort into plates using FL4A and FL4W for HO cell > cycle? Not the sort of sort I do a lot of but any parameter than you can use for "normal" sorting can be used as a parameter for soring into plates etc. HTH, HAND Derek **************************************************************************** * Derek Davies Voice: (44) 0171 269 3394 * * FACS Laboratory, FAX: (44) 0171 269 3100 * * Imperial Cancer Research Fund, e_mail: derek.davies@icrf.icnet.uk * * London, UK * * * * Web Page: http://www.icnet.uk/axp/facs/davies/index.html * ****************************************************************************
