I concur with Kevin's point about "coining terms" for their own sake . . . Back in my fledgling days as a flow-ist, I had a user who wanted to use a new method for analyzing eosinophiles . . . by measuring something known as "EFF." Not wanting to admit my inexperience, I feigned understanding, and afterwards frantically set about finding out what "EFF" was. Quickly, I found the article they must have used as reference, and found that "EFF" stood for "eosinophil fluorescence factor" . . . MAK.
