We have never looked at mouse thymocytes, but it is my understanding
that for most cell systems, the in vivo methods of removal of apoptotic
cells are so efficient that they are very difficult to detect in the absence
of an incubation period.

If they were detectable, an assay which picked up an earlier event
may have a better chance of succeeding, such as mitochondrial alteration or
phosphatidylserine exposure.

Good luck,
Tom
