This message provides you with information to help you make your plans for the upcoming XIX International Congress in Colorado Springs, Colorado USA, 28 February - 5 March, 1998. This message includes Call for Abstract Deadline information, ISAC Awards Deadline information and Preliminary Program information for the Congress. The ABSTRACT DEADLINE is 17:00 (Central Standard Time - Chicago, Illinois USA), 1 November, 1997. Submissions after this deadline will NOT be accepted. The ISAC AWARD DEADLINES are as follows: Student Member Travel Fund - 1 November, 1997; Exceptional Student Award - 1 November, 1997; Outstanding Student Poster Award - 15 November, 1997; President's Award for Excellence - 15 November, 1997. The printed PRELIMINARY PROGRAM and REGISTRATION FORM are currently in the mail and should reach you within 10 days. The early registration cut-off deadline has been extended to 15 December, 1997 to accommodate for this delay. The XIX International Congress promises to be the most useful and informative in the history of ISAC. Don't miss out on this exciting international event. Joe Samson Executive Director **************************************************************************** ***** ISAC XIX CALL FOR ABSTRACTS The membership is invited to submit abstracts under the following headings: Cytometric Technology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Clinical Sciences and finally Plant plus Microbial Biology. There will be a special emphasis area of Molecular Pharmacology which will be featured in most elements of the program. Abstracts, all of which will be refereed, will be classified under one of the above headings with an additional "catch-all" miscellaneous category because there is always something new which cannot be predicted. SUBMISSION INFORMATION ISAC has implemented a system for electronic submission of proposals. We hope to expand the use of electronic format in view of the widespread availability and use of word processors, access to the internet and e-mail. Submission materials and instructions are available as a downloadable file (from the ISAC web site). Get the files for the submission of abstracts by downloading the submission instructions and files from ISAC's website, http://www.nucleus.immunol.washington.edu/ISAC.html. Once you have submitted your abstract by e-mail, you will receive confirmation via e-mail that it was received within 48 hours. DEADLINE Abstract submissions must be received at ISAC headquarters by 17:00 Central Standard Time on 1 November, 1997. Abstracts must conform to the submission requirements outlined.
