Dilute the cryoprotectants or remove cryoprotectants by pelleting the
cells and resupend cells in PBS or HepesPBS w/wo BSA(0.1%).
DMSO  will kill cells and high osmolarity will cause major problems also.
Additives does cause FSC and SSC problems.
