I'm baaaack! Several months ago I asked for some advice about setting up our autoclone, which had never been used, and with the aid of Coulter tech support and notes from several of you I traced the problem to a missing wire in the sort control module. We have successfully sorted single cells into 96-well plates since then. Now I have a new problem: the Autoclone control unit was working yesterday am, and now it's not. No blown fuses--it beeps once when powered up, and there's power to the unit, but none of the 3 lights on the front are lit, and I can't make the waste catcher move, enter sort intsructions, or move the plate. It doesn't accept keypad commands. I do get stream deflection when the unit is powered up, so the sort signals are being sent via the BNC cables, but plate control is absent. The pressure supply tubing is attached, and I get no feedback when pressing the keypad keys, so it's not pneumatic, it's electronic. The manual suggestion for this condition is bad or disconnected logic cable, but it is connected at both ends, and I tested each lead for continuity and they are all intact. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Shooting in the dark again, Steve --------------------------------------------------------------- Steve G.
