Hi

CD8 cells that are CD45RA and CD62L are considered naive. Most (in normal
people) CD8 cells that express CD62L also express CD45RA but some are
CD45RA negative and are considered memory cells. I use the term negative
loosely as the "negative" cells also express some CD45RA. Using CD62L alone
as a naive marker in HIV infected individuals could give grossly inaccurate
results.
