a "naive" question!

Dear all

can anyone shed some light on a possible naive question. Can we call CD8
cells which lose CD62L expression memory cells? Conversely, are CD8 cells
that express CD62L of a naive phenotype?...or would this be an
oversimplification. I ask as someone has shown me data looking at TCR V
beta expression on CD8+CD62L+ cells and said these were naive cells.
Would this make sense?

Comments would be appreciated...many thanks
