Pete Macardle asked about monoclonal antibodies by injecting the mouse with a
band of protein cut from an acrylamide gel.

We used a method published in: Bennet, R. et al. The production and
characterization of murine monoclonal antibodies to a DNA receptor on human
leukocytes, J. Immunology 140: 2937-2942, 1988.

I don't believe that polymerized acrylamide is toxic, but in this procedure, we
eluted the protein and removed the bits of acrylamide by centrifuging.

Best wishes,
Tony Bakke
