Flow Cytometry Facility Position

The Flow Cytometry Facility at The University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill has an immediate opening for a flow cytometry specialist. The Flow
Cytometry Facility is a multi-user core facility supporting the research of
over 60 biomedical laboratories. The Facility currently has 2 B-D FACScans
with Cytomation interface/software, a Cytomation MoFlo, and 2 data analysis
workstations. The duties for this position are to oversee, maintain, and
operate the FACScans and to provide flow cytometry training and interface to
a diverse group of biomedical investigators. Operation of the MoFlo will be
a secondary function following training. The successful applicant will work
closely with the Facility Director and will need to have excellent
interpersonal and communication skills. Some level of experience with
analytical flow cytometry is required and FACScan experience is preferred.
Experience with Windows-based computers/software, flow cytometry
applications software and other laboratory skills e.g. cell culture, protein
purification, immunofluorescence staining of cells, microscopy, and DNA
technology is also considered an advantage. Applicants must have at least a
BS degree preferably in a biological science. The position will initially
be a full-time temporary position (includes benefits) while a full time
