We have been asked by our pediatrics department to help confirm the
diagnosis of Langerhans cell granulomatosis (formerly histiocytosis X) in a
5 yr. old boy.
Does anybody know whether flow analysis of peripheral blood is of any help
and what findings to expect. Our pediatric specialist belive that a
prominant feature of the disease is disturbance in numbers of CD4+ and CD8+
lymphocytes and natural killer cells. I cannot find this confirmed in the
literature.
Any suggestions are welcome.
