Tenure-track academic appointment available for an experienced researcher to
direct the core flow cytometry facility within the ICT. The candidate will
collaborate with a diverse group of basic science and clinical research
professionals, develop new procedures, and provide scientific direction. The
qualified incumbent will be provided with an operating budget for technical
support, research space, and consumable supplies for the establishment of
his/her basic sciences research program. Candidate should have a Ph.D. or
M.D., with previous experience in flow cytometry, be an U.S. citizen or
permanent resident, and be eligible for a position on a NIH grant.
RESEARCH ASSOCIATE POSITION
Candidate will be responsible to technically operate the FACS vantage and
FACS Calibur including calibration, alignment, maintenance, sorting, and
problem solving. The individual will also provide training to researchers in
the operation of equipment and establish management procedures for the
storage of data. Incumbent should have a B.S. with two years previous
experience in cell sorting.
INSTITUTE FOR CELLULAR THERAPEUTICS (ICT)
The ICT at Allegheny University of the Health Sciences in Philadelphia, PA
has a state-of-the-art flow facility. Located within 30,000 square feel of
research space, the flow facility currently includes two FACS Vantage cell
sorters (one with turbo capacity) two FACS Caliburs, and a full complement of
standard laboratory equipment.
