DEDICATION
This volume is dedicated
to the many individuals who participated in the environmental public health
studies described in Chapter 1. Without their Public Health Service is
especially grateful to those few individuals who permitted us, through
repeat testing, to ascertain their findings more fully. These individuals
give special meaning to concepts of informed consent, confidentiality,
clinical care, and citizenship. It is our hope that we will remain worthy
of their trust, and that this volume will benefit the health of all citizens.
