The linear value for a particular channel number can be calculated using:
10 to the power Channel number/number of channels per log decade.
eg channel 512 of a 4 decade 1023 channel scale = 10^512/256 = 10^2 = 100.
This can also be done in reverse to calculate channel number from a
linear value. In this case use:
log(Linear value) x channels per decade.
Hope this is of some help.
