Thy1 is one of several markers used to identify "early" CD34
subpopulations. It is by no means clear that thy1+'s are the "earliest"-
there are advocates of CD38 lows, HLA-DR lows etc. No evidence currently
that thy1's are the "stemmiest"... but then the search for the "stemmiest"
stem cell is highly assay dependent and smacks somewhat of comparison of
phallus length....
