Dear Ray,

Paraffin interferes with many, not all, DNA stains. To circumvent this,
David W. Hedley developed a procedure to get rid of the paraffin.
A recent account of that can be found in :

Methods in Cell Biology vol. 41 (1994), chapter 16, pp. 231 - 240.

We (Molecular Probes) will have a kit with a new dye specifically designed
for this purpose out very soon (Catalog # C - 7590).

Good luck,

Martin Poot
