Kits for Quantitative Flow Cytometric Analysis

Stock Number Description Tests
PI-STAIN DNA Staining Reagent Kit 20
The DNA staining kit provides reagents for the isolation and staining of cell nuclei from fresh tissue fragments or peripheral blood. Nuclei are stained with propidium iodide (PI) and analyzed by flow cytometry. The resulting histograms can indicate cell cycle distribution or DNA aneuploidy.

QC-WIN QC Windows 100
The QC Windows is a unique microbead standard used to achieve a unified setup protocol for all cytometers. This practice effectively normalizes all fluorescence intensity data across laboratories and different models of cytometers. The QC Windows Kit contains a certified blank microbead and a microbead standard for flow cytometry. The two reagents are uniform in light scatter characteristics and are provided in separate vials. The certified blank microbead is used to determine the fluorescent threshold of the instrument (noise level). The microbead standard is labeled with both FITC and PE and have lot specific target channel values assigned. These two reagents are used to determine the appropriate PMT voltage setting for any cytometer. The QC Windows Kit establishes a common Window of Analysis to be employed across all laboratories and instruments, therefore, permitting the direct comparison of histogram data.

Store at 2-8°C. Do Not Freeze. Shipping Conditions: Ambient.

QMF-2 Quantum Fluorescence Kit for MESF units of FITC 20
QMF-10 100
The Quantum Fluorescence Kits for MESF units of FITC use flow cytometry to create a fluorescence intensity standard which matches the spectral properties of the cell sample. MESF (Molecules of Equivalent Soluble Fluorochrome) units are a relative fluorescence intensity unit which compares a stained sample to the fluorescence intensity of a known solution of equivalent fluorochrome molecules. This is done in a fluorimeter where both the sample and the standard fluorochrome solutions are exposed to the same local environment. MESF units are fluorochrome specific. Four FITC reference standards of microbeads (approximately the size of lymphocytes) are calibrated against solutions of laser grade FITC in terms of MESF units per microbead standard. The range of MESF units of FITC is ~10,000 to 500,000. An unstained microbead population serves as negative control by indicating the background noise level of the flow cytometer.

The handling program ''QuickCal'' is provided on a 3.5² diskette. It analyzes data from practically any flow cytometer using any analysis software. The program contains lot-specific information, namely the MESF units of FITC for each microbead population. The QuickCal Program accepts peak channel data for the microbeads, creates a regression calibration plot and then analyzes the data for the sample cells.

QMP-2 Quantum Fluorescence Kit for MESF units of PE 20
QMP-10 100
The Quantum Fluorescence Kits for MESF units of PE (R-phycoerythrin) use flow cytometry to create a fluorescence intensity standard which matches the spectral properties of the cell sample. MESF (Molecules of Equivalent Soluble Fluorochrome) units are a relative fluorescence intensity unit which compares a stained sample to the fluorescence intensity of a known solution of equivalent fluorochrome molecules. Four PE reference standards of microbeads (approximately the size of lymphocytes) are calibrated against solutions of laser grade PE in terms of MESF units per microbead standard. QSC-20 Quantum Simply Cellular Microbead Kits 20
QSC-100 100
The Quantum Simply Cellular microbeads use flow cytometry to measure the quantity of cell surface antigen molecules in Antibody Binding Capacity (ABC) units. ABC is the number of antibodies bound per cell or microbead. These microbeads are designed for direct or indirect assays which use fluorescent labeled mouse primary antibody or fluorescent-labeled anti-mouse secondary antibody. Four populations of microbeads (approximately the size of lymphocytes) are produced to bind defined, incremental amounts of mouse immunoglobulin. A non-binding microbead population serves as negative control by indicating the detection limit of the cytometer. Microbeads bind staining reagents through covalently-bound, polyclonal anti-mouse immunoglobulins. This antibody has equivalent reactivity to each mouse isotype (IgG1, IgG2a and IgG2b).

The data handling program ''QuickCal'' is provided on a 3.5 inch diskette for IBM and Macintosh. It analyzes data from practically any flow cytometer using any analysis software. The program contains lot-specific information, namely the ABC assignments for each microbead population. The QuickCal Program accepts peak channel data for the microbeads, creates a regression calibration plot and then analyzes the data for the sample cells.
