This antibody binds to mouse neurons and astrocytes in vivo. It recognizes a triplet of glycoproteins with apparent molecular weight 180-140-120 kDa neural BSP2 which is identical to NCAM (Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule) at the neural cell surface. Only NCAM proteins from mouse are recognized. It is useful for differentiation of embryonic neurons in culture and for immunopurification of NCAM proteins from mouse.
