The HNE51 antibody detects the CD70 antigen of 30 kDa which appears to be a type II transmembrane protein with homology to TNFa and to the ligand for CD40 antigen. This antigen is actually the CD27 ligand and is found on early activated T and B cells as well as on activated macrophages. It is also present on Reed-Sternberg cells. It is expressed by cell lines such as Cess or HUT102. HNE51 antibody was evaluated during the Fourth International Workshop on Human Leukocyte Differentiation Antigens.
