The CD49f antigen (gpIc) is a disulfide-linked large subunit of 120 kDa and small subunit doublet of 30/31 kDa, called integrin a6-chain. When non-covalently associated with the 130 kDa integrin b1-chain (CD29 molecule), it forms the VLA-6 complex (GPIc/IIa). It is known as the laminin receptor. It is found on platelets and megakaryocytes. It is weakly expressed by a subpopulation of T lymphocytes. It can be associated with the integrin b4-chain forming the a6/b4 complex. GoH3 antibody inhibits the adhesion of platelets to laminin. It is not suitable for Western blot. GoH3 antibody was evaluated during the Fourth International Workshop on Human Leukocyte Differentiation Antigens.
