The CD48 antigen is a GPI-anchored glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 43 kDa. It is widely expressed on leukocytes. It is weakly expressed on myeloid cells, negative on platelets and erythrocytes. J4.57 antibody was evaluated during the Fourth International Workshop on Human Leukocyte Differentiation Antigens.
