The CD27 antigen is a disulfide-linked 120 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein which belongs to the Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor (TNFR) gene family. It is found on medullary thymocytes, peripheral T cells, activated B cells and Natural Killer (NK) cells. It is preferentially expressed on the CD45RA+ CD45RO-, naive subset of CD4+ T cells. Its recently identified ligand is identical to CD70. 1A4CD27 antibody was evaluated during the Fifth International Workshop on Human Leukocyte Differentiation Antigens.
