The CD24 antigen is a glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol-linked membrane sialoglycoprotein, with a molecular weight of 35-45 kDa. It is present on B cells, from the stage pro-B to the mature B cell, but not on plasma cells. It is expressed on a majority of normal medullar granulous cells and peripheral blood granulocytes. ALB9 antibody was evaluated during the Fifth International Workshop on Human Leukocyte Differentiation Antigens.
