The CD5 antigen is a single-chain glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 67 kDa. It is found on all mature T cells and on most thymocytes. CD5 is also present on a B cell subset but is not found on granulocytes or monocytes. CD5 is a ligand for the CD72 antigen, which is present on B cells. T1 antibody was evaluated during the First International Workshop on Human Leukocyte Differentiation Antigens. BL1a antibody was evaluated during the Third Workshop.
