The CD2 antigen (T11, LFA-2) is a monomeric 50 kDa glycoprotein which was formerly described as the receptor for sheep red blood cell rosetting of T cells and identified as the LFA-3 (CD58) ligand. It is present on the majority of normal human peripheral blood T lymphocytes and on a high percentage of NK cells. It is also expressed by all thymocytes. SFCI3Pt2H9 antibody inhibits sheep erythrocyte rosette formation. T11 antibody was characterized during the First International Workshop on Human Leukocyte Differentiation Antigens.
