COULTER COUNTER MULTISIZER IIe

COULTER COUNTER® Multisizer II e

Multisizer IIe
Rapid, Accurate Particle Counting and Sizing.
MethodCoulter Principle using the electrical sensing zone technique
Size Range0.4 - 1200 µm
Ultra High Resolution particle count and size distribution
Typical ApplicationsEmulsions, latex, silica gel, toners, biological cells
The COULTER MULTISIZER IIe is the most versatile particle size analyzer available today for a multitude of broad and narrow size range materials. It provides number, volume and surface area distributions in one measurement, with an overall range of 0.4µm-1200µm.

Whatever the industry--abrasives, pharmaceuticals, paint or biological cell studies--you get the high resolution multichannel analysis and accuracy you demand.

  • The MULTISIZER IIe utilizes the Coulter Principle to measure particle volume--the most representative and accepted expression of particle size.
  • Its response is unaffected by particle color, shape, composition or refractive index.
  • 64- 256 user-selectable size channels (expandable in ranges to 25,600) give you the highest resolution available today.
  • Displays both number and volume (mass) distributions. It calculates surface area data for complete sample characterization, allowing the fullest picture in particle size analysis available from one source.
  • Easy set-up procedures. An 'automatic' mode means the MULTISIZER IIe is ready for use in seconds. Results are produced and displayed rapidly, with typical analysis time of 30-90 seconds.
  • Accurate particle counting and size distribution capabilities on dilute samples--ideal for detailed liquid contamination monitoring.

State-Of-The-Art Data Handling

AccuComp® data handling with MS-Windows® control is available for data processing and storage on a free-standing PC. Features of the package include:

  • Size distribution statistics
  • Run overlays and averages
  • Multi-tube overlapping
  • Data export capability

Stable Calibration

The MULTISIZER IIe is factory calibrated for convenience, but for ultimate accuracy, you can recalibrate for specific samples being processed.

In addition, the constant current feature of the MULTISIZER IIe eliminates calibration drift due to changes in electrolyte conductivity and temperature, a common problem in other particle sizers.

Precise Sampling

A siphon system provides you with the most reproducible and accurate method of sampling, with an accuracy of better than + /- 0.5% at the 500 µl volume setting.

Wide Range Of Apertures For All Your Applications

Apertures are available in diameters from 19µm to 2000µm. For a given aperture, the particle sizing range is from 2% to 60% of the aperture diameter, giving an overall range of ®m. For the majority of applications, however, a single aperture is sufficient.

Multi-purpose

The MULTISIZER IIe is so flexible that it's equally at home in production control or the research laboratory. If you are using it on the factory floor, you'll appreciate the automatic set-up facility and its rapid analysis. Manual set-up, however, gives you full control of all instrument functions, allowing the most demanding R&D investigations.

Multi-channel

You can obtain optimum resolution for the sample under test by selecting the number of size classes (channels) into which the size distributions can be subdivided. From 64 up to 256 channels of data can be obtained over a 30:1 diameter size range on the full range analysis. Use of Narrow and Window modes enables the equivalent of 25,600 channel size resolution, wide range particle size analyzer ever.

Multi-displays

Size distributions may be displayed in terms of number, volume (mass) or surface area against particle size, and the size axis may be shown as particle diameter, volume or area to provide the information that is exactly right for your particular application. For maximum flexibility, the size axis may be on a linear or logarithmic scale, and the distribution displayed as differential or cumulative data, oversized or undersized.

Accessories and Reagents

Peripherals
The COULTER MULTISIZER IIe can transmit data, including overlaid graphs of sequential runs and channel listings, to an optional dot matrix printer. With the MULTISIZER AccuComp® computer system, data files can be stored for future reference, and viewed in various formats with a high degree of flexibility.

Coulter Dispersants
Various Ionic and Non-Ionic dispersants are available to suit your particular applications. Coulter's wide range of dispersants ensure reproducible and effective dispersions. They can be used to aid in the sipersion of most samples.

Coulter Calibration Standards

These are sized against a range of reference techniques, traceable to N.I.S.T. and B.C.R. certified reference materials, and are specially prepared for calibration checking. They are available in various sizes, packaged in convenient in various sizes, packaged in convenient dropper vials, and have a guaranteed stable shelf life.

Electrolyte

ISOTON® II filtered, buffered saline solution is ideally suited as a convenient-to-use prepackaged electrolyte solution for many applications of the MULTISIZER IIe.
