We use the same type of home-made filters here at Purdue (see the
Handbook of Flow Cytometry Methods, page 108). Our mesh is generally
20 or 30 micron and comes from Small Parts Inc.(Miami Lakes, FL).
Since the mesh itself is not particularly cheap, we cut our squares
as small as conveniently possible. It does go a long way. We have
also sterilized these little filters in the autoclave (gravity cycle)
without problem.
