TRANSNATIONAL EXCHANGES

1.- Student Practical Placements

Designed for students or postgraduates, primarly to offer the student a practical period in European institutions or enterprises, in order to complete their process of university formation in this way. Furthermore, the enterprises send established contacts, professionals with knowledge of new technologies and authority of other language communities.

The organisation of these exchanges are combined with as many of the sending universities as the receiving enterprises, not only sending and admitting students but also supervising and achieving a follow-up during the exchange.

The job of the TATIANA-UETP is to co-ordinate the requests of as many of the universities as the enterprises, as the selection and supervision of the students. The evaluation of each exchange is reflected in intermediary and final reports that every student sends to the UETP and that they remit as much of the sending university as the receiving enterprises, and subsequently these reports will be compared with the original project sent to COMETT.

From the 1st of January to the 15th of September 1995, the last date of the COMETT programme, a total of 22 exchanges took place, in which organisations and enterprises of 8 European countries participated. The resume of these exchanges are in the following table:

TRANSITIONAL MEASURES

Due to the delay at the start of the LEONARDO programme, and the resolving of the vacant spaces between the different European meetings of exchanges, the European Commission opened a meeting using the name TRANSITIONAL MEASURES. The resolution of this meeting allowed the new Association a total of 35.000 ECUs to subsidise the exchanges of 13 students.

The following table collects the resume of these exchanges of the period beginning and including September 1995 to January 1996. The duration of these grants are between 3 and 12 months and the students are obliged to finish their stay in the foreign country before January 1997.

This class of exchange promotes the exchange of staff between universities and enterprises to work in fields or areas of interest, to obtain the formation of new technologies and methodologies that may be considered advantageous to the sector and the development of the personnel's work.

An additional objective is to plan to obtain a better knowledge of the real managerial and the university teacher's part of the participants in the exchange, to improve their personal Curriculum Vitae and to tighten relations between both organisations.

The UETP have coordinated the petitions of exchange to make possible both of the necessary flows, also supervising the selection of candidates and carrying out the following exchanges.

During this year the following flows were conducted:
