I am a vascular surgeon in Phoenix who has been involved with a new
computerized method of platelet aggregation which uses the Born turbidometric
method with a standard 2.5 micromole/l concentration of ADP with PRP titrated
to 250,000 plus or minus 25,000 that produces a single numerical value which
we have called the PA score. This has proven useful in predicting outcome in
a variety of open and percutaneous peripheral arterial interventions, and I
would like to develop a cardiovascular research unit here in our large
retirement community of Sun City, AZ.

There is a new research center there which has been involved with Alzheimer's
disease and arthritis, and there is space available; and community support
which is available for funding the equipment and materials for outfitting a
cardiovascular center there. They have a rapid autopsy program for brain cell
culture that could be expanded to harvest of endothelial or smooth muscle
cells for culture and futher ex vivo study. I would be interested in sharing
information regarding my platelet research, and talking with anyone who might
be interested in coming to Phoenix to begin an independent private research
program.

I have appreciated receiving the messages from the mailing list for flow
cytometry, but would like to make an inquiry about individuals interested in
platelet studies for distribution. I would like to correspond with
individuals currently involved in platelet study using MAB or other methods
to compliment a quantitative method of analysis of the Born turbidometric
method we have developed which has proved clinically useful in predicting
outcome in a variety of peripheral arterial interventions.
