Hi there,

I have to agree that the HP/ACDU system is very awkward to use. We have been
using it for about 3 years and had terrible problems to begin with, mainly due
to a intermitent mechanical problem. Things have now settled down and we are
sorting with it at least once a week.

Due to the need to exit Lysys to run the ACDU software we initially establish
the PMTs and gains settings using Lysys and then enter the ACDU software to set
the sort windows.

One bug we have noticed is that if we are sorting using all the parameters
available ie, FSC, SSC, FSC-W, SSC-W, FL1, FL2 and FL3 we have to ensure that
all the parameters are selected as listmode parameters (even though we aren't
saving the data as files) to get the correct sorting frequency otherwise we the
observed frequency is nearly zero.

I believe that the newer Mac systems have integrated the ACDU software into
CellQuest but, I wouldn't swear to it.

All the best,
