We have a junior level position open in the Flow Cytometry Unit,
Laboratory of Pathology, National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of
Health. We immunophenotype approximately 300 clinical specimens per year.
All are for detection of leukemia or lymphoma, with an emphasis on
detection of minimal rsidual disease (ie. no CD4/CD8 counts). We are also
engaged in research into the biology of hematopoietic malignancies through
various molecular as well as immunological techniques. The job discription
for the position available includes running patient specimens as well as
participating in the research program. Flow experience is highly desirable
although immunological experience with background in morphology is
competitive. Position is in the "Med-Tech" series and therefore
certification as a medical technologist or meeting NCIs' qualifications for
Med-Tech classification is necessary. The position is highly stable and
within the civil servant realm so that it does not depend upon grants, etc.
