The Alternative Travel Group, in Oxford, England
(800-527-5997), was mentioned in the Sierra Club book
"Wild Italy" as running some of the better
nature-oriented walking tours of Italy. They have 3
which coincide nicely with the isac rimini meeting - the
Tuscan Trail (9 days, 55 mi), Southern Tuscan Trail (11
days, 85 mi), and Unknown Tuscany (hot springs, volcanos,
11 days, 67 mi). They carry your baggage in a van,
provide a guide and meals, and you walk. One can also do
their treks unguided - they provide maps, meals, and
housing. It is considerably cheaper that way.

If anyone is seriously considering these tours, or would
like to form a group to do an unguided tour, please
contact me.
