Flow Cytometry Opportunity in the Northwest
-------------------------------------------

The Cell Analysis Facility in the Department of Immunology, University of
Washington School of Medicine has an immediate opening for a specialist in
flow cytometry and cell analysis.

Responsibilities include: the operation and maintenance of FACStarPlus (dual Ar
laser), two FACScan analyzers, and a networked computer system. The successful
candidate will also participate in the development of new methods and
instrumentation for cell analysis.

A Bachelor's degree is required, and previous flow cytometry experience is
highly desirable. Training in the physical sciences and experience with
networked computers (MS-DOS and UNIX) are essential. Excellent verbal and
written communications skills, and the ability to work with a diverse group of
users in a research environment are required.

In June, the growing facility is moving to new laboratory space that is
designed to accommodate up to six flow cytometers and image analysis systems.
All computers for data acquisition and analysis are connected directly to the
Internet.
