In my limited analysis on a Coulter XL and an Elite, distilled water gives a
different FSvsSS pattern with less separation of monos from lymphs
(everything falls down and to the left) in Q-prepped blood samples. I
hypothesized at the time that some sort of hypotonic/hypertonic gig was
going on at the sheath/sample interface...so I stuck with the sheath fluid.
