Our network was recently hit by lightning. All DEC transceivers were fried,
and a DEC repeater died. All Cabletron equipment was A-OK!

We like VersaTermPRO (Synergy Software) for telnet and ftp. It's compatible
with BD Consort VAX. I think they offer just tcp/ip connectivity in a
product called Versatilities. We've also used Fetch 2.1.1 from Dartmouth
(anonymous ftp to dartvax.dartmouth.edu). Fetch is free for use by
educational institutions. Also, NCSA Telnet, again available over the
internet by anonymous ftp. For Synergy, our favorite software vendors is
MacWarehouse (1-800-255-6227). Maybe Alice Givan has some more suggestions?

- From Network Research's FUSION for VAX/VMS manual (FACSnet for VMS):
...a value of 0 or 255 often has a reserved meaning.
I could not find a reference for a value of 128.

I do not represent the following group. I only enjoy their contributions to
and visions of flow cytometry.
