Linda Pilarsky has posted a question about using cytometry type graphics
in off the shelf graphics packages and word processors.

My experience is mainly using the Elite software which generates CGM files.
There are a number of packages that will accept these files:
Harvard Graphics
Correl Draw (windows only)
Kinetic, Words, Graphs & Art (Kinetic Presentations inc)
Lotus Freelance
These programs shoudl be able to accept Elite CGM metafiles. I have tested all
but HArvard Graphics since my version is old enough for me to have decided that
it was useless (newer versions I believe are much more useful!).

The Elite outputs 2 CGM files each time. A 1 or 2 is appended to the end of the filename. The 1 files contain just numbers etc.
The "2" files are the graphics.
Once you have inmported the CGM file into the appropriate graphics package,
you can modify just about annythin you want. I mostly change the font and size
of all text to make it more readable. I also often add additional comments to
provide effect etc.

A major advantage of handlkling graphics this way is that I can take the same
file and make a nice slide on teh electronic camera. This is a particularly
useful feature of using off the shelf graphics packages to handle cytometry
histograms.
There are disadvantages however. Sometimes dot plots become "plod" plots -
the dots become blobs ! There is not much that you can do about this but it
is quite tollerable I think.
I am unaware of the output formats of Reproman (although I have it and have
not tried to output graphics) Nodoubt Dave Coder will provide an answer here!

There is a definite advantage in being able to manipulate the graphics. This
helps when you want to emphasize a particular line etc. I will be happy to
explain anything in particular to Elite users where my experience is.
