APPLICATION SCIENTIST - Salary =A314K-=A315K

We require an ambitious and enthusiastic individual to develop expertise i=
n
Flow Cytometry in-house as part of a major expansion of the Aber
Instruments' product range. You will be primarily involved in the
optimisation and improvement of Flow Cytometry instrumentation and protoco=
ls
for the Microbiology market. The individual will also be required to set =
up
and manage a small laboratory for rapid microbiology testing using Flow
Cytometry. Customer liaison and on-going technical support for Flow
Cytometry instrumentation under evaluation at clients' premises will form =
a
key part of this newly created position. The post is offered on a two yea=
r
term 'Teaching Company Scheme' partnership between Aber Instruments Ltd an=
d
an academic partner with identified skills in microbiology.

Qualifications/Experience

Applicants should have a first/upper second class honours degree in
microbiology or a closely related subject. Experience with rapid
microbiology techniques or advanced analytical instrumentation is desirabl=
e
but training will be provided in this specialised field. They should also
have strong written and verbal communication skills and should be keen to
work in a small team.
